Select “CPB-AES-128” if you want to use this protocol to maintain

privacy on your network.

11. Enter a password in the “Priv Password” field.

OTE

The Authorization Protocol and Password and Privacy Protocol and

Password fields are enabled only if you select the SNMP V3 field.

12. Enter the name of the user in the “Username” field.

13. Enter a password for accessing an SNMP agent in read-only mode in

the “Read Community” field.

14. Enter the name of the SNMP write community in the “Write

Community” field.

OTE

The Read Community and Write Community fields are available only

if you select the SNMP V1/V2C option.

15. In the “Common Settings” section, the following options are available:

Port number - Enter a UDP port number in this field.

■

Max Retries - Enter the maximum number of retries for each

SNMP attempt that does not receive a response. The retry value

allows the application to continue operation during network

problems.

■

Timeout (seconds) - Enter the time in seconds. Set the SNMP

timeout value to twice the average end-to-end delay in your

network. During high traffic periods, you might experience

timeouts. Increase the timeout interval if you consistently

experience timeouts.

16. Select Save.

MODIFY SNMP PROFILE

To modify an SNMP Profile, perform the following steps:

1. From the Preferences - SNMP Profiles dialog box, click the “Modify”

button to modify details of the SNMP profile. You will see the SNMP

Profile dialog box.

2. Make the required changes and click OK.
