PRELIMINARY

- Select this option and click the Devices button. You will see the

Devices Viewer dialog box.

- In the Search by IP Address field enter the IP address of the

device for which you want to schedule the download of

configuration files. The device with the selected IP address will

appear in the pane below OR select the check box against the IP

address of device/s in the pane and click OK.

OTE

The devices displayed in the pane are a list of devices that are

available on the network.

OTE

Click the “Select All” and “Deselect All” buttons to select or deselect

all the devices listed in the pane.

5. Click the “Restore Defaults” button if you want to apply the default

settings.

6. Click the Apply button if you want to save the settings you have

entered.

7. Click OK.

DISCOVERY The Discovery section of the Preferences tool allows you to configure the

behavior of the NMS Discovery engine. This setting will be used every time

the Discovery runs.

1. From the left panel, select and expand the Element Manager option and

choose ECView Pro > Discovery. You will see the Discovery screen on

the right panel.

2. On the “Seed Device” section, you can manually specify an IP Address

of a device where the Discovery should start. Leave it blank if you wish

for the Discovery to automatically assign a seed device.

3. On the “Device Discovery” section, select whether you want the

Discovery to get All or only the Managed (SNMP Enabled) devices. The

Ignore new devices option will disregard new devices added on the

network next time you run the Discovery.

4. The Schedule Discovery section allows the Discovery to run

automatically :

Select Launch discovery at startup option if you want the Discovery

to run automatically whenever your system restarts.

■

Select Run Discovery every option and then the interval time when

you want to automatically run the Discovery on an hourly basis.

5. Click Apply and then OK
