STATUS POLLING

Status polling starts as soon as discovery starts or NMS has even one

device in its database. When the Discovery process is complete, NMS

continues to monitor the status of each device in the network using the

Status Polling to give you the real-time status of each device and how it is

visually represented in the Mapping option, you can determine the status

of a device through its background color whether it is on a clear

background which means that the device is in a “Good” state, yellow if it is

on “Warning” state or red if the device is “Unreachable.” Each Status Polling

generates trap information and these are shown in the Event Viewer

option.

You can set the time interval of the Status Polling using the Preferences

option.
