PRELIMINARY
MAIN MAP /MAP VIEW The Map View of the ECView Element Manager represents the graphical
topology of your network. The Main Map shows all the discovered Subnets,
and the Map View displays all the discovered devices within a Subnet.

Along with the Map view are sets of useful menus and commands that you
can use on the Map or on each device to manage and have a better
graphical view of your network.

Action Name Icon Description
Local Zooming Serves as a magnifying glass to give a clearer view of a
particular portion in the Map view.
Fit Content Adjusts all the contents in the map to fit in the current
size of the Map window.
Zoom in Click the zoom in icon or simply roll up the wheel of your
mouse (if available) to give you a close-up view of the
devices in the Map window.
Zoom out Click the zoom out icon or simply roll down the wheel of
your mouse (if available) to view more of the devices at
a reduced size in the Map window.
Layout Change the representation of the graph of devices
depending on the type of layout you choose.
Delete Link Removes the connecting line of one node to another.
Delete Node Removes nodes in the Map view and in the database.
Unless the deleted device is blocked, it will be added
automatically on the next run of the discovery or by
using the Manual Discovery.
Manual Discovery Opens the Manual Discovery wizard.
Refresh Map This action fetches all data (updated devices and
connections) from database and displays in Mapping.
Refresh Map will retrieve the discovered devices from
the database and arrange the layout of the Map view to
its default Layout or to your preferred Layout.
